The Sanskrit words “Arya Samaj” connote “Society of Nobles”. The ideological foundation of Arya Samaj are the four Vedas, the primordial, divine scriptures of mankind, which declare that God as the creator and sustainer of the entire universe is a formless Supreme Being who is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent.
As mandated by the Vedas, its followers Aryas (noble persons) reject unscientific beliefs and superstitions and hence do not practice idol worship, animal sacrifice or any other irrational rituals. The primary goal of Arya Samaj is Krinavanto Vishvam Aryam meaning Make the world noble”.
